Woman took wallet from counter, police say
Suffolk County police said they are looking for a woman who was a regular customer at a West Islip card store until early May, when she stole another customer's wallet off the cashier's counter and walked out.
The theft took place about 1 p.m. on May 4 at OM Popular Cards and Gifts on Union Boulevard, the Third Precinct Crime Section said.

Pictures from a surveillance camera show a woman of indeterminate age wearing glasses, dark slacks, a white shirt and a blue jacket.
Police said the woman might work at a nearby medical office, and they asked anyone with information about the theft to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All information will be kept confidential, police said, and there could be a reward of up to $5,000.
