Hamptons: A 'Bachelor' party and more

Benefits, books, a big DJ and a TV bachelor are set to make the Hamptons bounce:

1. To benefit its emergency department, Southampton Hospital is throwing its annual summer party Saturday under the tents at the corner of Wickapogue and Old Town roads. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, dinner, dancing and a raffle; a silent auction will start after 8. The host will be NBC/4 anchor Chuck Scarborough. Tickets start at $750 (guests 35 and under start at $375). 2. Lorenzo Borghese may be known for his Italian royal heritage (and his turn as ABCs "The Bachelor"), but on Saturday he'll be helping to raise funds for the Last Chance Animal Rescue organization. Starting at 6 p.m., Lorenzo will host "Martinis for Mutts" along with Devorah Rose, editor in chief of Social Life Magazine, in a night of food, wine and cocktails. 3. Almond (1 Ocean Rd., Bridgehampton, almondrestaurant.com), which Newsday food critic Peter Gianotti gives three stars in Friday's Explore LI, is serving a four-course meal starting at 8:30 p.m. Sunday with restaurant critic and author Gael Greene. She will read from her books "Blue Skies, No Candy" and "Delicious Sex: A Gourmet Guide to Pleasure for Women . . . And the Men Who Want to Love Them Better," then answer questions. 4. While the name Tom Stephan may not call out to the club-minded, just the mention of his DJ moniker "Superchumbo" will create lines and sellouts at his appearances around the globe. Around midnight Saturday, he'll follow up a probably mobbed session spinning at the Neptune Beach Club (70 Dune Rd., East Quogue, 631-653-8737, neptunebeach club.net or on Facebook) with a more intimate gig at 75 Main (75 Main St., Southampton, 631-283-7575, 75main.com). Crowd is 21 and over, and 75 Main's cover is $20 (Neptune price has not been announced) -- but with the likelihood of a tremendous response, purchasing table service would be a good way to go ($600 minimum).
