* The physical education department of Center Moriches High School will host a Chinese auction on April 30 in the high school gym (311 Frowein Rd.). Doors open at 5 p.m., and the auction begins at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10. For more information call the school district at 631-878-0052.

* The Center Moriches PTA will hold its third annual Chalktastic Day, a street painting festival for the entire family to enjoy, on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the high school. For $10, you will get an area of asphalt to create your work of art. Games, arts and crafts, and other activities are planned. The rain date is May 15. Call the school district office for more information.

* Teams are forming for this year’s Center Moriches Relay for Life, being held from noon to midnight June 4 at the Center Moriches High School track. Now in its 10th year, this event raises funds for cancer research. The next team captains meeting is scheduled for May 4 at 7 p.m. at the high school library. Museum passes: Did you know that you can visit some of the area’s greatest museums for free? That’s right. Center Moriches Free Public Library patrons with current library cards can check out a pass to the following museums: Children’s Museum of the East End; American Museum of Natural History; Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum; Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium; and Long Island Science Center. Passes must be reserved in advance, and patrons are allowed to keep them for a week. Visit the library’s children’s department for more information or call 631-878-0940.
