The North Shore girl’s team earned All-American status after taking third at the national championships in the distance medley relay in a Long Island-record time of 11:30. Brianna Nerud, Elizabeth Sheerin, Emily Osman and Samantha Nadel made up the team.
Riverhead’s Melodee Riley also stood out, taking fourth in the triple jump in 39 feet, 8 ½ inches to earn All-American status.
The St. John’s the Baptist boy’s 4x800-meter relay of Brandon Camenzuli, Sean Ferguson, Seitu Solomon and Hunter Burrell took sixth at the national championships in a CHSAA state-record time of 7:37.93.
St. Anthony's Thomas Diliberto also became an All-American after taking third in the 2,000-meter steeplechase in 6:04.76.
