New North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth is scheduled to speak at a forum on climate change Thursday at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, 48 Shelter Rock Rd. in Manhasset. It is to begin at 7:30 p.m.

The forum is to detail the Climate Reality Project, a program founded and chaired by former Vice President Al Gore.

State Assemb. Michelle Schimel (D-Great Neck) and Frances Reid, the town’s chief sustainability officer, are also scheduled to speak. Bosworth, who became supervisor Jan. 1, campaigned in part on her experience advocating for Long Island’s aquifers.

“Addressing the growing concern of climate change is of paramount importance. Being aware of the issues and the actions that need to be taken will help improve the quality of life for our future generations,” Bosworth said in a news release announcing the event.

The forum is open to the public, and a suggested donation is $5.
