A pedestrian was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital after a hit-and-run crash in East Farmingdale Wednesday night, police said. Credit: Paul Mazza

A man was seriously injured when a sedan hit him, then took off, Wednesday night in East Farmingdale, Suffolk police said.

The man, identified as Benedicto Lopez-Ramirez, 41, of Farmingdale, was crossing Route 110 from Great Neck Road toward Main Street around 9 p.m. when he was struck by a white sedan, police said.

The sedan had been heading east on Main Street and turned right onto southbound Route 110 when the collision occurred, police said.

After hitting Lopez-Ramirez, the driver fled in the sedan, continuing south on Route 110, police said.

Lopez-Ramirez was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.
