Memories of Bruce Boehm
Friend recalls high school memories
I went to high school with Bruce. We spent a lot of time together since we were both on the wrestling team and football team. Bruce played offensive center and I was right guard.
I remember vividly the pep rally before the North-South game our senior year. I got up to speak to the crowd and said that we were going to try real hard and do our best. When I got done, Bruce said: Schneider, you stunk. You should have gotten them all charged up, yelled and screamed and said how we were going to kick their [butt].
Freshman year, after a wrestling match, we were sitting in the stands watching the janitor clean up the wrestling mats. The janitor was wiping the mats down with a mop and Bruce said, Schneider - that’s what the guy you wrestled did to you.
No one gave more effort than Bruce. We called him "Uce."
I wish his family the best.
