Daughter: Always remember 'Papa Joe'

Joseph was my father. He was an amazing person. He was a hard-working man who was passionate in everything he did. He always stood by my side and encouraged me.

He was a master carpenter and great cook. I think of him when I'm preparing my sauce on Sundays or fixing something in the house.

Unfortunately, he died before he met his grandkids. I found out at his memorial service that I was expecting. My son was born weighing in just below 3 pounds but he was a fighter like his papa Joe. So that is was I named him. Joseph after his papa in heaven ... our hero. I also have a little girl, Gianna. And she says the star above the house every night is papa Joe watching over us.

Even though it's a decade later, my dad is still very much a part of my life. I will continue to teach my kids about the man he was. I love you daddy.
