Remembered 2,000 miles away

Several of Mike’s buddies (Joe and Gerrard) came to Belle Fourche, South Dakota in 2010 and purchased a brick in his memory. During our 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony that will be held on Sept. 11 at 5 p.m., we will ceremonially place the 8” x 8” brick in the engraved brick courtyard, ring the bell 9 times in his honor and lay a memorial wreath in honor of all the firemen that lost their lives (Additional wreaths will be placed to also honor the service officers, paramedics and fallen soldiers).

We will ask for a moment of silence as the Life Flight helicopter hovers above the crowd before it takes off. A bagpiper will then play "Amazing Grace."

We have much more going on for the week leading up to and on Sept. 11. I would really like to let Mike’s family and friends know that 2,000 miles away we are thinking of them and are doing what we can to make sure that the victims of 9/11 are not forgotten and to point out to others that many more continue to lose their lives everyday as a result of the attacks and the bravery shown.
