Sister: 'Celebrate' his legacy

Paul's legacy

Paul’s legacy in my mind is his celebrating life ... sounds cliche ... but that’s it ... enjoy every single day and celebrate. Every time he was getting ready for a celebration, family dinner, his engagement, buying a boat, a house, planning a trip, having a baby, just being with his mom and family for a birthday or Sunday dinner, he got a great big 1,000-watt smile on his face.

According to him, life was to be enjoyed, not endured and he believed that everyone should appreciate each and every moment, live every day of your life to the fullest and he truly did! He got his money’s worth out of life, and all of us lucky enough to be in close proximity know what I mean.

The last time I saw Paul was at my other sister-in law's 40th birthday party, dancing to Madonna’s song “Holiday Celebrate," and oh he could

dance. So, every time I hear that song I think of him and celebrate life as his legacy. That is what he would want. It is summed up in her lyrics below. I can just imagine him up there somewhere at a perpetual celebration, teaching everyone to do the “chicken dance.”

He was the glue in our family that kept it all together, kept us smilin’, dancing and celebrating.

Holiday Celebrate - Madonna

If we took a holiday
Took some time to celebrate
Just one day out of life
It would be, it would be so nice

Everybody spread the word
We're gonna have a celebration
All across the world
In every nation
It's time for the good times
Forget about the bad times, oh yeah
One day to come together
To release the pressure
We need a holiday

(chorus)
You can turn this world around
And bring back all of those happy days
Put your troubles down
It's time to celebrate
Let love shine
And we will find
A way to come together
And make things better
We need a holiday
