The Setauket Fire Department, home of one of the largest Sept. 11 memorial parks on Long Island, unveiled a granite monument at a ceremony Sunday night -- and just in the nick of time.

The monument, which includes the names of everyone who died in the World Trade Center attacks, wasn't finished being engraved until Sunday afternoon. It is the final piece of the memorial park, which has been under construction since 2002.

"I'm just glad that it's here for the community," said former department Chief Glen Pinkava, who helped the drive to construct the park.

More than 400 people attended the ceremony at the department's building on Nicolls Road in Stony Brook.

One of the faces in the crowd was Margarite Bonomo, whose husband Frank, a former member of the Setauket department, died on Sept. 11. He was a member of the FDNY.

"This is beautiful," Bonomo said. "They did a beautiful job with this, and we're proud to be a part of this community."
