1-800-Flowers a top 'death industry' player

Carle Place-based 1-800-Flowers.com ranks among the Top 10 players nationwide in the “death industry,” according to an article by 24/7 Wall Street, an online financial news service.

The article notes that "a significant portion of 1-800-Flowers’ revenue comes from the funeral business."  And the company’s website also features “an original video which outlines how to express sympathy with flowers and gifts.”

Other top players include Wal-Mart (caskets).
