The frozen yogurt chain 16 Handles plans to open another self-serve dessert shop on Long Island, in Port Washington.

Based in Manhattan, 16 Handles already has a store in Jericho (its 16-flavor self-serve selection got a five-star rating from Kidsday food critics).

The Port Washington shop franchisee is a developer, Scott Silverman, the company said.

The company began franchising in August and is set to open five new East Coast stores this spring, and up to eight locations in New York City within the next two years.

The newest locations include shops in Boca Raton, Fla., and upstate Clifton Park.
