2 LI companies get $750,000 from state to keep jobs in NY
Two Long Island companies have gotten a total of $750,000 in incentive grants from the Empire State Development Corp.
The grants, contingent on the state passing a budget, are intended to help ensure that jobs remain in-state.
Filtration manufacturer Pall Corp. will get $500,000 to help consolidate its workforce from several locations, and to pay for renovations at its Port Washington headquarters.
The grant could help Pall retain more than 500 jobs, the state said in a news release. (that's one of their filters, above left, that removed infectious particles from red blood cells.)
Hornell Brewing Co., maker of the AriZona Iced Tea line of drinks, will get $250,000 to help pay for construction of a new Woodbury factory to consolidate its current Lake Success and Brooklyn locations. Hornell pledges to retain 285 jobs and create 50 new full-time jobs, the state said.
