The U.S. Treasury Department has named two Long Islanders to its Taxpayer Advocacy Panel, which identifies the public’s concerns about the IRS and makes suggestions for improving service.
The new local members are Lindenhurst resident Boris Mikhail and East Rockaway resident Jonathan Wolfsohn.
They are among 26 members chosen nationwide from a pool of more than 400 applicants for the three-year, volunteer position. They will join 56 returning members.
“TAP members play an important role for the nation’s taxpayers,” said IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman. “The panelists provide the IRS with insights that help make the tax administration process better for all taxpayers.”
Taxpayers can contact the volunteers at 1-888-912-1227. Or click here for more information online.
