How to develop leaders in your organization -- and how to be a better leader yourself -- are subjects of two upcoming training programs for women, presented by the Long Island Women's Agenda Leadership Council.

--Anne Marie Thigpen, right, director of Adelphi University's Center for Non-Profit Leadership, will discuss on Jan. 11 how organizations can develop leaders inhouse.

--Diane Kramer, left, PeakSkills Learning Systems, will discuss on March 16 how to be a better leader yourself.

"Part of our mission is to reach out to women and help expand their horizons," said Katie Raftery, chair of the leadership council and vice president of human resources at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. "We're providing an opportunity to get a view on leadership at a very reasonable price." (That would be $25 for LIWA members; $35 for nonmembers; $10 for students.)
