Behlman Electronics Inc. was awarded a $21.7 million contract to make up to 180 aircraft armament test sets and other equipment to test bomb racks, missile launchers and rocket launchers.

Fifty-three percent of the work, valued at $11.5 million, will be done in Hauppauge, where Behlman is based, with the remainder allocated to Indianapolis.

The work, expected to be completed in September 2020, is being performed for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and the governments of Spain, Italy, Finland and Kuwait.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Lakehurst, New Jersey, issued the contract.

Behlman makes power products for the aerospace, railroad and energy exploration industries.
