Three Long Island manufacturers will open their doors Friday to the public as part of National Manufacturing Day.

The nationwide event helps educate the public about local manufacturing and also aids in connecting manufacturers with business owners in hopes of more collaboration. The open houses on Long Island are being organized by the Long Island Forum for Technology.

The three companies participating Friday are:

1. Atlantic Industrial Technologies, at 90 Precision Dr., Shirley. The open house will be  from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The company designs and makes mechanical and control systems.

2. B&R Industries, at 12 Commercial Blvd.,  Medford. The company  will give factory tours from 1 to  4 p.m. The company makes precision control devices.

3. Accessory Technologies Corp.,  219 Central Ave., Farmingdale. The open house will include tours of its FAA repair facility from 10 a.m. to noon. The company services aircraft components.
