Consumers who dutifully heed the experts and slather sunscreen on themselves and their children were aghast at last month’s reports that some products may actually help spread cancer instead of prevent it.

Three Jason Natural Cosmetic brand products, by Melville-based Hain Celestial Group, made the top 30 list in the Sunscreen Guide of the Environmental Working Group, the organization that released the study.

The products, Earth’s Best Mineral Based Sunblock, Sunbrellas Chemical Free Sun Block, and Sunbrellas Chemical Free Sun Block, each received a “recommended” rating of 2.

“We are proud that Hain Celestial personal care products are continually recognized for their safety and efficacy,” said Hain’s chief executive, Irwin Simon, in a press release.
