Long Island nonprofits are now eligible to apply for a $5,000 grant for use on printed materials, an offer from commercial printing company Star Communications in Hauppauge.

To apply for the grant, organizations may email Joe Crook at jcrook@starcommunications.us for an official application.

Star Communications will consider the nonprofit's proposed use of the grant, how the grant will fulfill the organization's mission and insights from a phone or in-person interview to evaluate who will receive the grant.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. A winner will be announced by the end of the year.
