A North Carolina search firm specializing in health care technology is taking a cue from Broadway.

Intellect Resources is hosting a “casting call” audition Nov. 5 to find 90 New Yorkers who want to become skilled as health care technology trainers.

The trainers will be placed in 3- to 6-month assignments at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan to teach the hospital’s staff how to use a new electronic health records systems.

Trainers who perform well could qualify for a full-time job in health care technology training or additional consulting jobs, the staffing company said.

The health records are being updated as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the federal stimulus program that encourages health care providers to switch over to electronic records so their offices can reduce cost and errors and raise efficiency.
