The Water Authority of Western Nassau County has hired the engineering firm H2M Solutions in Melville to design two plants to remove iron from its water “to lessen the burden on local residents and businesses that have been plagued by discolored water,” Rich Forestano writes in the Three Village Times.

The overall project is expected to cost around $7 million. the authority’s board of directors said.
