About the data

Timing: Financial data as of June 16, 2014; market capitalization and total return data is as of May 30, 2014. Data is for the fiscal year ending between April 2013 and March 2014 unless otherwise noted
 
Growth rates: Restated data was used in the revenue and earnings-per-share growth rates.  Compound growth rate is the type of growth rate presented.  If less than four years of data was available then a growth rate could not be calculated and an “NA” (Not Available) is presented.  If either the current year or the first year of the data used in the growth rate calculation was negative then a growth rate could not be calculated and an “NC” (Not calculable) is presented. 
 
Executives: The database may include officers that are no longer at the company. The information is obtained from proxy reports, which present compensation data for their latest fiscal year.  Titles listed are the first title given in the documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
 
Older data: Information for this project is current 2013 fiscal-year data reported by the company, with these exceptions:
 
On Long Island:  Nathan's Famous Inc. pay data is from March 2013, and Park Electrochemical Corp. pay data is from February 2013.
 
In New York City:  Pay data from these four companies is from March 2013:  Fairway Group Holdings Corp., Forest Laboratories Inc., Ralph Lauren Corp and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.
