AirTran, union reach 4-year deal for dispatchers
(AP) — AirTran Airways and the union that represents its flight dispatchers said Tuesday they have ratified a new four-year bargaining deal.
The agreement covers AirTran Airways dispatchers that work at the company's System Operations Control Center in Orlando.
The dispatchers are represented by the Transportation Workers Union. AirTran is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc.
AirTran shares jumped 26 cents, or 5.8 percent, to $4.78 in afternoon trading.
