Altice USA on Wednesday introduced faster internet service plans for residential and business customers, fulfilling in advance a requirement that New York State regulators set in approving the company’s June purchase of Cablevision Systems Corp.

Altice USA CEO Dexter Goei said in a statement that residential customers will now have the option to purchase Optimum broadband service with speeds up to 300 Mbps, and business customers up to 350 Mbps.

Previously, the Bethpage-based company’s fastest service was 101 Mbps.

Goei said the new services “meet our public interest commitments more than one year ahead of schedule.” The commitments are part of a June agreement with the state Public Service Commission.

Altice USA owns a 25 percent stake in Newsday Media Group.
