Melville-based Arrow Electronics Inc. will expand its geographic distribution of an Amphenol Corp. product line of electronic connectors with a new agreement to sell the products in Asia.

Amphenol makes electronic and fiber-optic linking devices, cables and wiring for products ranging from automotive airbags to railroad car connectors and "astronaut handle-operated connectors" for the space shuttle.

The expanded agreement includes distribution services for Amphenol Industrial Operations products in all of Asia except Japan. Arrow's previous agreement with Amphenol was limited to North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"Arrow customers in Asia will now have access to AIO's products and services that specialize in the design and manufacture of cylindrical connectors to industrial market segments," an Arrow news release said.
