Arrow Electronics buys British distributor
Arrow Electronics Inc. of Melville has bought Sphinx Group Limited, a British distributor of security and networking solutions.
Sphinx is based in Nottingham and has 100 employees. It represents more than 20 security and networking suppliers and more than a thousand resellers across the U.K., Arrow says.
Terms of the buy were not disclosed. It is expected to add to Arrow's earnings within a year.
Sphinx's total sales in 2009 were about $82.5 million.
