Arrow inks deal with semiconductor maker

Melville-based Arrow Electronics Inc. has a new deal to distribute computer chips and equipment for the digital home entertainment market.
The partnership is with Trident Microsystems Inc., a maker of components for digital TVs and set-top boxes.
"Thanks to Trident technology, consumers can enjoy TV shows, HD, 2D and 3-D movies, 3-D games, photos, videos and extensive Internet content from multiple sources on their TVs and through their set-top boxes," Arrow said in a statement.
Trident is based in Sunnyvale, Calif.
