Arrow is top Long Island company on Fortune 500 list
Arrow Electronics Inc., with $14.7 billion in revenue in 2009, was again the highest ranking Long Island business on Fortune 500’s latest annual list, coming in at 157.
The Melville-based distributor of electronic components and computer parts ranked 151 in 2009. Arrow has 11,300 employees in 310 locations in 51 countries. More than 400 employees work in the corporate headquarters.
“Certainly, being a global company, it’s always an honor to be recognized by Fortune,” said spokesman John Hourigan.
Last month, Fortune also included Arrow on its 346 “Most Admired Companies” for 2010.
