An info tech trade publication has included Arrow Electronics Inc., of Melville, among the top U.S. companies using technology in their business.

Arrow, which distributes electronics from more than 100,000 manufacturers, with a global sales network, has been named to the top 100 of the InformationWeek 500. The magazine compiles the listing each year.

Vincent Melvin, Arrow's chief information officer, said in a Thursday news statement that many of the other top companies on the list are its suppliers and its customers. "Leveraging technology to accelerate improvements in business processes is one of the ways Arrow creates value for customers and suppliers – the top technology companies in the world," Melvin said.
