Arrow makes new wireless deal

Arrow Electronics Inc. of Melville has signed an agreement with a new supplier of wireless equipment.

Its new partner, Redpine Signals Inc. of San Jose, Calif., makes wireless chipsets, modules and development kits.

Arrow will distribute the products worldwide. They are used in industrial, consumer electronics, medical, mobile, PC, smart energy and other markets.

"Wi-Fi technology is everywhere and is at the core of all embedded application designs," Jeff Eastman, an Arrow senior vice president, said in a news release. Redpine's products "can help Arrow customers design emerging wireless system products quickly..."
