Klipsch

In February, Audiovox Corp., of Hauppauge, bought the high-end speaker maker Klipsch Group Inc. for $166 million. Now Audiovox has promoted Paul Jacobs, a 20-year veteran of Klipsch, to be the subsidiary's new president and chief executive.

Jacobs replaces Fred Klipsch, who is stepping down but will remain chairman of the Klipsch Group; and who will stand for election to the Audiovox board of directors at its next annual meeting.

Indianapolis-based Klipsch, whose retailers on Long Island include Best Buy and P.C. Richard & Son stores, is known for its high-end speakers for home theaters and cinema

Paul Jacobs joined Klipsch in 1992 as the head of sales and has held various executive positions with the company leading up to his most recent as chief operating officer.
