Auto dealers expanding their campus

The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association staged a ceremonial start to its expanded campus Thursday with the demolition of an old building on property the group just purchased adjacent to its headquarters in Whitestone. The newly acquired property will give the group direct access to the Whitestone Expressway and could be the site of a second building, not yet designed.
An association spokesman, Nick Crispe, said the new property, 1.1 acres creates a campus of 8.2 acres. The association, which represents most dealers on Long Island as well as in the boroughs and northern suburbs, moved its headquarters from Brooklyn to the then-new building in Whitestone 25 years ago and created a Center for Automotive Education & Training within it.
