Bank of America's online troubles

Online banking service at Bank of America was down early yesterday afternoon, said a bank spokeswoman.
“We are experiencing intermittent service disruptions as a result of a routine update we made over the weekend,” said spokeswoman Tara Burke. “We hope to have it resolved quickly.”
Burke said that beginning around 1:30 p.m. yesterday, some customers were unable to log on while others faced very slow service.
The problems were not because of any type of attack, she said, and customer information and security has not been compromised.
A message on the website yesterday afternoon said, “Online Banking is temporarily unavailable for NY customers. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.”
