Ben Bernanke to speak at LIA fall luncheon

Former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke will be the speaker at the annual fall luncheon of the Long Island Association, the region's largest business group.

LIA president and CEO Kevin Law will interview Bernanke in what an LIA spokesman called a "conversational" question and answer session.

In a statement, Law said Bernanke "was a central figure during the nation's Great Recession and thus we are excited to engage him in a discussion about the Bush and Obama Administrations, our economic recovery and the domestic impact of global crises."

The event will be held Oct. 15 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. Ticket prices have not yet been determined.
