Best Market, which has aggressively expanded throughout Long Island by taking over former A&P locations, has opened its new Oakdale store.

The Oakdale store, which opened this week, replaces a Waldbaum’s at 4560 Sunrise Hwy.

The Bethpage-based, family-owned company operates 31 stores, 25 of which are on Long Island.

In total, Best Market has opened 10 stores in former Waldbaum’s or Pathmark locations.

Competitors Stop&Shop, ShopRite and Key Food also added multiple stores on Long Island by moving into former A&P supermarkets. King Kullen moved into the former Waldbaum’s on Sunrise Highway in North Patchogue.
