The Long Island communities of Bethpage and Greenlawn rank among the top 10 places in New York for millennials seeking a job, according to a NerdWallet report released this week.

NerdWallet said it analyzed if there were jobs in the area, affordable rentals near where they worked and if other people who reached young adulthood about 2000  lived there.

The analysis included average worker payroll salary in 2012 and U.S. Census Bureau statistics.

Bethpage ranked fifth on the list, and NerdWallet credited the area with growing its millennial population by about 15 percent from 2010 to 2013. The median salary is on the high end, at $84,952, while rentals are expensive.

Meanwhile, Greenlawn came in eighth. NerdWallet said it has seen its millennial population grow 22 percent since 2010. The median salary in Greenlawn is about $56,759, and the median cost to rent is just under $1,000 a month.

Pearl River, in Rockland County, topped the list, while New York City came in second.
