Blind Bat Brewery, a garage-based craft brewery, has found a new home in the Village of Northport.

The Northport Village Zoning Board of Appeals voted 5-0 Wednesday to approve the brewery's application to renovate a 2,700-square-foot building at 19 Scudder Ave. in an alley near the Chase Bank at 54 Main St.

Paul Dlugokencky, who started Blind Bat in his Centerport garage in 2008, said he expected to increase output from 40 to 60 barrels per year to 600 to 800 barrels per year. Dlugokencky said he is aiming for a September opening, but will continue to brew beer in his Centerport garage while the property is renovated.
