Book-signing for Publishers Clearing House tell-all author

Darrell Lester, author of "The Naked Truth about Publishers Clearing House", will sign copies of the book at an event Tuesday in Port Washington.

Lester, a former senior vice president at the company, will appear at the Harold E. Mertz Community Center, 382 Main St., from 5  to 6:30 p.m.

A publicity notice for the event says the 2011 Pennywyse Press book "offers a rare inside look into Publishers Clearing House." Lester promises to "answer any and all questions about the secretive and legendary PCH.”

The Mertz center, the company's former headquarters building, was donated to Port Washington by company founder Harold Mertz.

In a tribute to the Mertz family, part of the proceeds from Tuesday's book sales will be donated to the Community Chest of Port Washington.
