Boutique gym chain Solidcore is opening its first Long Island location this weekend.
The 2,700-square-foot fitness studio will open at 250 S. Service Rd. in Roslyn Heights on Saturday, starting with a 7 a.m. class. The studio employs one manager and five coaches.
The Roslyn Heights studio will be the Washington D.C.-based chain’s 23rd location in the United States, including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas, North Dakota and Minnesota. The corporate-owned chain plans to open another nine studios across the country in the next six months.
Solidcore is a 50-minute, high-intensity, low-impact total body resistance class using a machine outfitted with weighted springs and cables, handles and a sliding platform. During the workout, variations of moves stemming from planks, lunges and squats are used.
The first class at the Roslyn Heights studio would be $19. Otherwise, one class costs $37.
Former first lady Michelle Obama was reportedly a fan of the fitness studio chain and its workout classes.
