MONDAY: Automakers report March car and truck sales. Also, February factory orders from the Commerce Department.
TUESDAY: The Institute for Supply Management releases the March services-sector report, an update on the wide swath of nonmanufacturing businesses including retail and restaurants. Also, the Commerce Department releases the nation’s trade balance in February. In January, the trade deficit hit a record high.
WEDNESDAY: The Federal Reserve releases the minutes from its March meeting where it raised interest rates for the first time since 2018. Earnings: Levi Strauss.
THURSDAY: Jobless benefits claims for the week ended April 2 from the Labor Department. Earnings: Birds Eye foods maker Conagra Brands.
FRIDAY: The Commerce Department releases February wholesale inventories. In January, inventories rose as businesses restocked to meet consumer demand.
