Further evidence of Bridgehampton National Bank looking west is its appointment Friday of a new chief of commercial lending for western Long Island.

Joseph Walsh, formerly of Capital One, will be a vice president, said the bank's chief lending officer, Kevin L. Santacroce, in a statement.

The bank said Walsh will focus on developing new customers from Westhampton to Deer Park, soon to be the location of its westernmost branch.

Bridgehampton National Bank has almost $1 billion in assets and 17 branches in Suffolk County. In addition to Deer Park, the bank is planning to open a new branch in Patchogue later this summer.
