Brookhaven names 'Health Care Provider' of the year

Janet Stevens of Manorville has received the 2011 Health Care Provider Award from the Town of Brookhaven’s Office of Women’s Services based on her achievements in the field.

Stevens is a staff nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and a coordinator for prenatal bereavement programs at several Catholic hospitals on Long Island.

She is also a faculty adjunct at Suffolk County Community College, a member of the Eastport-South Manor School District’s Board of Education, and a volunteer ambassador for the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
