LI man must pay $2.1M in counterfeit DVD case
A federal judge in California has ordered a Uniondale man to pay $2.1 million in damages to the makers of fitness DVDs after an investigation showed he sold counterfeit copies of the company's discs online. Wayne Batchelor sold the bootleg P90X Extreme Home Fitness discs for $47.99 to one of the company's private investigators. The retail price of the "Beachbody" line of exercise videos is $119.85. From November 2009 to January 2010, Batchelor sold 129 sets of the counterfeit videos, the company said. Batchelor, who could not be reached for comment, was ordered to stop making the discs and to turn over any remaining copies to the company. - Joseph Mallia
Aeroflex goes public again in 17.25 million-share IPO
The Plainview-based electronics maker Aeroflex Holding Corp., which went private less than three years ago, went public again Friday. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ARX, its initial public offering of 17.25 million shares opened slightly below its announced $13.50 price, but reached that amount at closing. - Joseph Mallia
