Dawn Davidson Drantch of Wantagh, at left, recently received a Mentor of the Year Award from Moxxie Network, a Brightwaters-based network for local professional business women. Drantch, director of employee relations and counsel at Alcott HR Group in Farmingdale, was honored for her participation in Moxxie’s Mentor Program, which helps female college students learn to network and gain business skills.

Daniel P. Deegan of Glen Cove, center, was named Associate Member of the Year by the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island for work in multiple real estate development projects. Deegan, a partner at Uniondale-based Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo, Cohn & Terrana, heads the firm’s industrial development agency. He’s also vice president of New York League of Conservation Voters’ Long Island chapter and a member of the American Bar, Nassau and state bar associations.

Loring Miller of Melville, right,  received the 2011 Good Deed Award from the Boy Scouts of America’s Matinecock District for his leadership and dedication to the group. Miller, ex-cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 457 in Dix Hills, is a partner at Loring E. Miller Insurance in Mineola, chairman and president of Nassau and Suffolk County Police Reserves, executive vice president and rewards chairman of Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County, and a board member of the New York Law Enforcement Foundation.
