WEDNESDAY: Earnings from Melville industrial supplies distributor MSC Industrial Direct, Bed Bath & Beyond and consumer electronics seller Voxx International.

THURSDAY: Jobless benefits claims for the week ended Jan. 5 from the Labor Department.
