CA buys Australian mobile company

Business software maker CA Technologies says it has bought an Australian company that will help satisfy customer demand for systems to manage mobile e-mail, video and social networking.
CA, of Islandia, did not say how much it paid for Torokina Networks, a privately held company based in Sydney.
Torokina will help it expand products and services for surging demand in the mobile voice and data industries, CA said.
"Combining the technology and expertise from Torokina with our existing service assurance solutions, CA Technologies can now offer 'one-stop shopping'" for communications service providers, Christopher Cook, CA's service assurance division manager, said.
CA, which sells software systems to commercial clients, sees a growing market for systems that merge internal and "customer-facing" networks — and says Torokina's products will help fill that demand.
