CA names sustainability officer

CA Technologies of Islandia said Monday that Cynthia Curtis, an executive with extensive marketing experience, has been promoted to vice president and chief sustainability officer.

The idea of sustainability, in the corporate world, in general means making decisions with environmental and energy-use considerations in mind, especially as they affect future generations.

Curtis will lead the computer software company’s office of sustainability and its global sustainability efforts.

"Since joining CA Technologies in 2010, Cynthia has established a track record with measurable results for the company's sustainability program," Ken Bell, senior vice president for CA's global administrative services, said.

"Her expertise and dedication to increasing our environmentally responsible initiatives makes her an ideal chief sustainability officer for CA Technologies."

Before Curtis joined CA last year she worked  as a marketing executive for Utimaco Software, EMC Global Services, Unisys Corp. and the United Services Organization (USO) in Germany.
