CA Technologies, the Islandia business software company, said Wednesday that it has reached a settlement with an Australian firm that had earlier been found to have infringed on CA's copyrights.
The matter was the subject of a six-week trial in Australia that resulted in a finding that the Sydney-based company, ISI, did infringe on CA's rights.
The court found that "ISI violated copyright laws and breached its duty of confidentiality in developing and selling a product (2BDB2) using intellectual property from CA Technologies CA Datacom relational database management system," CA said.
CA on Wednesday did not say whether it had received a payment from ISI, but a CA news release said that a settlement agreement resolved "all outstanding claims against ISI for copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation by ISI in its 2BDB2 software."
“We are pleased to resolve this case in a way that protects our intellectual property and recognizes the substantial investment we make in research and development,” Amy Fliegelman Olli, CA Technologies executive vice president and general counsel, said.
