CA Press, the in-house publisher at Islandia-based software maker CA Technologies, has a new book about insularity among information technology departments.

The book is "Eliminating 'Us and Them': Making IT and the Business One."

"The new title, written by the company's IT governance evangelist, Steve Romero, challenges conventional wisdom on what it takes for IT organizations to succeed," CA says in a Tuesday news release.

"I have spent time with C-level executives, VPs, directors, managers, group leaders, and supervisors and their teams, as well as program and project managers, analysts, and specialists," Romero said in the new release.

"In almost every case, I have encountered an 'us and them' relationship between IT and the business. And, while IT-business alignment can do much to address this problem, the cause is often what enabled the relationship in the first place: a lack of governance. This book offers practical solutions for the enterprise to bring IT governance to the forefront."
